This month I feature in the November issue of Cumbria Life

I am also part of the Affordable Art show at the Roundhouse Staveley.

and finally the Artisan Christmas Fair at Halecat. I am also having an open studio weekend the weekend beginning 30th November.

JUNE

Farne Islands visit 
I was fortunate to visit the Farne Islands in May where I was able to observe and sketch auks, kittiwakes, guillemot and puffins and shags on their nests and perched on the guano covered  cliffs . It was an amazing and inspirational day .
 
Lakeland Arts 

My prints and cards are selling well in the shop at Blackwell, Steamboat museum and Abbot Hall. All lovely places to visit!

Lake artists 120th anniversary workshops at Allen Bank

Allen Bank Grasmere, Monday 5th August 10am -4pm

As part of the Lake Artists 120th anniversary year I will be running one of a series of workshops at this lovely National Trust house made famous by William Wordsworth and his family. We will be exploring the house and grounds to find inspiration to design and make a Linocut stamp that we will use to create a unique repeated design.

All materials will be included. The cost for the day is £70 , tea/ coffee and cake will be provided. Bring your own picnic to join in a communal lunch either in the house or in the garden(weather permitting).

There is parking without the grounds.

March has been really busy beginning with delivering prints to the Gallery North-west in Brampton, a lovely contemporary   gallery set in a historic market town close to Hadrians Wall.
Meanwhile I have been busy getting prints ready for the Cumbria Printmaker Exhibition in the Severn Gallery, Brantwood, Coniston. The theme of the exhibition is water and I am exhibiting my otter prints. It runs till the 9th May . Brantwood is beautifully situated by Coniston Water, and is the historic home of John Ruskin. It also has a lovely cafe, The Terrace, great for coffee or a delicious lunch.

Abbot Hall
I am also very pleased to be supplying Abbot Hall shop with prints and cards. Abbot Hall is one of the UK’s leading  art galleries , it has a lovey well stocked shop selling work by local artists and also a coffee shop. It is open Thursday to Saturday 10am-4pm.

Paris
At the end of  January I was fortunate to have a few days in Paris, visiting thé Musée D’Orsay and the fabulous Sennelier shop where I bought a little pocket sketchbook and some pastels.

Collagraph
I have been busy revisiting collagraph printmaking looking for a different approach to my work.

This month I am being driven by my many fortunate sightings of the family of otters on the River Kent.
Three of the prints are hopefully going to Brantwood in March for the Cumbria Printmakers exhibition in March. More details to follow next month!
